Zemen Bank has reported a strong financial performance for the 2025/26 Ethiopian fiscal year, recording a profit of 10.2 billion birr and growing its total assets to 116 billion birr.
The figures were disclosed during the bank’s annual management meeting held from July 17 to 18 in Addis Ababa, where the institution reviewed its performance, achievements, and future strategic direction.
Zemen Bank’s Chief Executive Officer Representative and Chief Retail Banking Officer, Asrat Tadesse, said the bank’s paid-up capital surpassed 14 billion birr during the fiscal year, while total income reached 17.8 billion birr and total capital stood at 26 billion birr.
The bank also reported a 32 percent year-on-year increase in customer deposits, reaching 85.4 billion birr. Foreign exchange earnings rose to $698 million, while the bank’s outstanding loan portfolio reached 52.59 billion birr.
Board Chairperson Enye Bimr attributed the performance to the combined efforts of the bank’s management, employees, customers, and partners, highlighting the institution’s continued growth and resilience.
